With Mendizabal\u00b4s anticlerical laws, the Restoration came and then the possibility to found a monastic community in our Monastery again. This assignment was conducted by the Cistercian order.<\/p>\n

The beginnings of the Cistercian life in Saint Isidro are linked to three names: Dom C\u00e1ndido Albalat\u00a0 y\u00a0 Puigcervet – <\/em>native of J\u00e1tiva, Valencia and Abbot of the French Monastery of Saint. Mar\u00eda del Desierto \u2013 Sir Manuel Tabernero and his son-in-law Sir Juan Antonio S\u00e1nchez del Campo.<\/p>\n

The chronicle states that a trip, by October in 1890, which these three characters made searching a place for the foundation \u2013 when the train passed by the facade of the abandoned Monastery of Saint Isidro, Dom C\u00e1ndido exclaimed: \u201cThere it is what would fully fill my wishes\u201d \u2013 a serendipitous and almost certainly, inconsequential phrase \u2013 but the fact was that the family Mr. S\u00e1nchez and Mr. Tabernero from Salamanca wanted to buy the realty and purchased it on the 25th October 1890.<\/p>\n

After receiving the novelty of the purchase of the property, Dom C\u00e1ndido, with a pleasant perception, signed the foundation act which marked the beginning of the documented history of the Cistercian life in Saint Isidro de Due\u00f1as, order which still inhabits these walls in Palencia.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>
